Big Eye Dummies sent me their designer plush toy Disco cow to review and I loved it. When I opened the package, I noticed that the eyes and mouth were loosely tacked on with thread. The directions said to cut the threads off. There was a second set of eyes and a mouth in a little bag. The purpose was to allow children to switch out the eyes and mouth whatever way they wished. I couldn’t figure out how the eyes and mouth were supposed to stay on. There was no Velcro or snaps to hold them in place. Cringing a little on the inside, I told my husband to cut the strings. My daughter was eager to start playing with her new toy.

Shortly afterward, my daughter came to me and asked me to open the bag containing the second set of eyes and mouth. I opened and gave it to her. Then I took the cow and started examining it. The eyes and mouth have little magnets in the bag, as does the center of the areas that the eyes and mouth are to be placed on the face of Disco. As I said, I loved it. This is one of the most unique toys I’ve seen in a long time. My daughter thinks it is so awesome.
What about my son? He had his turn with it, too. It was so funny. Watching him with it, I cracked up. It didn’t help that my husband was playing with it at the same time. We both picked up immediately that this little creation had stirred up our son’s obsessive compulsive nature. He wanted all the pieces on the cow (both sets of eyes and both of the mouths). My husband kept taking one off and putting another on. My son was determined that the right pair of eyes were on and hubby kept changing it around. Both of them were giggling during this battle of wills. It didn’t take long for our son to give up on putting everything on. He figured out quickly that it doesn’t work that way. After about five minutes of playing around, my husband stopped driving our little boy crazy. My little cutey made the face the way he wanted, and sat back with a big grin.
