TNT’s New Show rizzoli & isles Is a Big Hit

TNT has a new show that will be premieres on Monday, July 12 at 10:00 ET. It is called rizzoli & isles and stars Angie Harmon (from Law and Order) and Sasha Alexander Star (from NCIS). I was sent a copy of the pilot episode “Do One. Teach One.”

I sat and watched this show with my husband. We were both fixed on the storyline and the characters. Angie and Sasha were captivating. I am not going to spoil the show and tell you about the storyline. Instead, I will tell you about the characters.

Angie Harmon plays Boston detective Jane Rizzoli, a tough as nails homicide detective. She comes from a middle class family, has an overprotective mother and enjoys playing basketball with her brother. Maybe not so much when she ends up with a broken nose.

Sasha Alexander Star plays a Boston medical examiner Maura Isles, a cool as ice female with a designer wardrobe. She shows up at crime scenes dressed to the nines. She was brought up with money and is proud of it.

The two are an unlikely pair of friends. However, it works. Right off the bat, you can feel the trust and history that these two characters have. The two together have an easy, relaxed, and comedic way of interacting. They are both direct with one another. Neither has a problem with pointing out the other’s flaws.

The first episode moves quickly. Every scene is essential. I’d tell you more, but then it would spoil it for you. You can watch it for yourself on Monday, July 12 at 10:00 PM ET.
