There’s been a big recall for eggs because of Salmonella contamination. This is in effect for eggs from Wright County egg in Galt, IA. Brands affected by this egg recall list include: Lucerne, Albertson’s, Mountain Dairy, Ralph’s, Boomsma’s, Sunshine, Hillandale, Trafficanda, Farm Fresh, Shoreland, Lund, Dutch Farms, and Kemps. The states listed for these brands are: California, Illinois, Missouri, Colorado, Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa.
Salmonella symptoms include nausea, fever, diarrhea, fever, vomiting, and abdominal pain.
There’s also been a recall on Mazda and GM cars. There is a seatbelt issue with over 250,000 GM cars. The recall includes model years 2009-10.
Mazda is recalling 215,000 cars for power steering issues. These recalls are for the model years 2007-2009 of the Mazda3 and Mazda5 cars.

With the government wanting to get more control over the egg industry to try to prevent similar recalls in the future, expect more complex regulations, more complex paperwork, more complex inspections. The result will invariably be lax oversight by the government, higher prices for the eggs and no improvement in quality or recalls. History has proven this over and over again, the futility of complex oversight.
