Hoover Vacuum Break Down, Family Colds, and IEP Meeting

Camping

My son is now sick. And guess what? So am I! The second time around is worse that the first. I just knew that I would end up with it again. I’m determined not to let it mess up my weekend, though.

Looks like I will have to get a new vacuum. They just don’t make them as good as they used to. I have a Hoover and have had it for about three years. The belt keeps breaking, and I keep replacing it. I also, of course, have to replace the filter periodically. That’s good maintenance. This last time, I had to replace both, my husband had to order them online. You can no longer find them at the store for this model.

The belt and filter came in last week. My husband had the vacuum up and running Sunday. The other day, I used the vacuum. For 2 minutes. For those 2 minutes, my vacuum worked great. Then it didn’t. The belt broke again. My husband hasn’t said if we are going to order another belt or buy a new vacuum. I vote for buy a new vacuum. What do you think?

We ate out last night at a new restaurant. It was a small buffet style restaurant. The food was awful. My son didn’t even want to try it. He just kept trying to give away his plate. There wasn’t a lot of food on the buffet. You would expect that the food that is served on a small buffet would be great. It wasn’t. It was like bad cafeteria food. We will not be returning to that restaurant. My husband and I are now wondering how long the restaurant will last.

I had my son’s IEP meeting the other day. It went really good. I was surprised. It’s been awhile since I have been to one that went that smoothly. His new teacher actually seems to understand autism and my son. If the meeting was anything to go by, this should be a good year for us. The only problem I foresee is whether or not my son will be willing to work.

This is my last post for this week. I will be back on Monday. I hope you have a great weekend.
