Playing games with the whole family when you have some children that are non-verbal can sometimes be difficult. Or perhaps your children are spread out in age and you have a preschooler and a tween. But finding a new game that not just everyone can play but also enjoy can be a real challenge. Let me introduce you to Jungle Speed.
About Jungle Speed
Jungle Speed is the most popular game in Europe, with more than two million sold. This game made its debut in the U.S. this July at Toys ‘R’ Us, Target, Walmart and other major and individual retailers across the country.
Jungle Speed is the fast and furious game of quick thinking and lightning fast reflexes. Think classic card games Spoons or WAR, embellish the cards with abstract shapes and colors and add a call to action to race opponents to a totem. Each player must be spot-on, in between outbursts of laughter and action! Jungle Speed features easy-to-learn play for entertaining and animated fun for the entire family.
It’s good for the brain, too! Recent research shows that board games, such as Jungle Speed, are positively impacting children’s cognitive development skills and brain motor function. The game play also helps kids develop valuable skills in patience, cooperation, concentration, teamwork and perseverance.
With many different cards, it may take some children time to realize that some of the cards look alike but are actually different, once they have that figured out, you should be good to go. What’s great about this game is that you can easily pair people up so that play can be more “equal” than playing as individuals.
The one thing that stood out to me was that you have to concentrate on the cards since you really have to watch the different symbols. That is great for kids who have trouble focusing with “mundane” tasks, this helps develop that concentration on a more fun level.
Incidentally it really does appeal to all ages, from the youngest to the teenagers.
I received a sample of Jungle Speed.
