Bedroom Makeover for Autistic Child

A Bedroom Transformation For One Very Deserving Child

I’m late posting this because some how the news ended up in my Spam folder – but the peeps over at the Nate Berkus Show e-mailed me about a show that aired this morning.

Holly Robinson Peete joined Nate Berkus as co-host.

As you may know already Holly is a huge advocate and supporter for Autism research and is dedicated to helping providing compassionate care to those living with Autism.  Back in 1997 Holly and her husband, NFL great Rodney Peete, founded the HollyRod Foundation dedicated to providing compassionate care to those living with Autism and Parkinson’s disease. Efforts of the HollyRod Foundation are providing a better quality of life for individuals and their families.

While she was on the show her and Nate teamed up to give this amazing little boy with autism, Marco his dream Nintendo inspired room! They were able to give him a spot to call his own with a super Mario brothers theme, simplify the room to prevent distractions and avoid sense of disorder, used removable decals as his taste changes and room is easy to update. Finally Holly surprises Marco with his very own iPad equipped with autism apps for Marco.

I wished I had known about this sooner, as I definitely would have watched the show.  Did any of you watch it?  If you did what did you think of it?
