Here Are Some Ideas to Share Earth Day with Your Family

This Sunday, April 22, is Earth Day.

If you’re looking for ways to share Earth Day with your family, here are some ideas from your friends at Discovery: TreeHugger is covering Earth Day here and will be at the Earth Day Network event in Washington DC on Sunday with live coverage.

Over at Parentables, discover 10 great green books to read with your kids, as well as ways to furnish an eco-friendly kid’s room.

And on Sunday on Discovery Channel, Frozen Planet’s final episode investigates what rising temperatures will mean for the people and wildlife that live at the poles, and for the rest of life on this planet. Tune in this Sunday at 8PM ET/PT.

Also, Discovery Education has teamed up with LeapFrog to bring Earth Day to life on its award-winning LeapPad tablet and Leapster Explorer game system. If your little ones love LeapFrog, check out these four new Discovery Education video apps—Holiday Facts and Fun: Earth Day, Taking Care of Our Earth, Animals in Action and Stuff Happens with Bill Nye!—now available in the LeapFrog App Center.

Childhood is the best time to start every good habit especially to build an environmentally responsible kid. It’s good to include the stuff that children will love.
