Using An iPhone Charger and Other Traveling Green Ideas

green travelingI try to do what I can to live green.  Not everything in my life is based upon it, but there are certain things that I now do out of habit.  One thing I do is try using traveling green ideas that come from what I do at home.  I have slowly implemented green products into my household, and look for products to purchase made of recycled materials.  Maintaining what I do at home, while traveling, has been easier than I thought. There are a lot of things you can do to continue being green when traveling, including using an iPhone charger.

Traveling Green Ideas

Most of my traveling is done locally, or as a day trip.  My overnight trips are usually camping trips.  I am very conscientious about how what I do outside affects where I am staying.  I see a lot of campers bring styrafoam  products and cans with them when they are camping.  I bring my own re-usable dishes, utensils, and cups.  I even use green cleaning detergent for washing them up.  Traveling green is not only beneficial for the environment, it is also cost efficient for the individual.

Another thing I do to be green when traveling, is to bring my paper towels and toilet paper from home.  I buy brands of each that are made from recycled materials.  I also bring rags to use, which reduces the amount of paper towels that I need to use.

There are a couple of things that I would love to do, but can not afford to do right now.  I would love to drive a hybrid car.  I’d also love to have an iPhone charger for our phones.  Did you know that you can buy one that charges all of your small mobile devices?  Even your laptop?  That’s what I need for my son.  We use up a lot of batteries keeping his music going when we are camping.  He has to have his country music playing.  It keeps him calm him.

What do you do to be green while traveling?  Do you have some traveling green ideas you would like to share?
