It’s that time of year. Back to school shopping for the kids. I wrote on Carolina Mom Blogger about the Old Navy sale, and NC Tax Free weekend. I’m going to take advantage of both. Yesterday, I went through my son’s clothes and got rid of everything that was too small. I also trashed the clothes that were showing a lot of wear. This left him with very little for clothes to wear this year.
My daughter has enough clothes to get her started for school, but she needs a few extra pieces. Since she has to wear a uniform to school, I need to pick up a couple of shorts and pants to get her through the school week. I picked up a few the last time I was at Old Navy, that’s why she only needs a couple things now.
Back to School Shopping Without Autism Son
I’m not going to take my son with me shopping. I will leave him at home with my dad. I am going to have my daughter, my mother, and my husband with me. It will be a long day. My mom and my daughter are a perfect match when it comes to shopping. My mom wants her to try everything on, and my daughter is more than happy to oblige.
After we are done at Old Navy, we will head for the mall. There are a couple of stores there that I want to check out. One will be Gymboree. It’s my mom’s favorite store. They usually have a few uniform type clothes. I am going to look for some elastic waste pants and shorts for my son. They are hard to find for my son’s size. He still has trouble with buttons and snaps, and I need him to be able to get his pants up and down easily at school.
Do you still have back to school shopping to do for your children?

Sadly, I haven’t even started my back to school shopping yet. Looks like it’s going to be one of those last minute things this year, we’ve just been way too busy!

Me too. My husband had a pair. I say had because I have claimed them as mine.
Mine finished Summer School [extended programme] on Friday, so no, I haven’t even thought about starting school!
That said, I have no intention of taking either of them with me for that particular torture. I’ll either buy everything on-line or make a quick dash to Target nearer the time, assuming I can bribe someone to babysit for a couple of hours.
I’m impressed that you’re so well organized.
Years of shopping for supplies during tax free weekend has given me a nice stockpile of basic supplies. This year, I took advantage of that and only had clothes left.
I also live in Carolina. South Carolina has a taxfree weekend also. Mom went out and bought a lot of stuff for her grandchild.
She also yelled at me for buying an IPAD online, and being charged tax.
why didn’t my first post get a CommentLuv comment
