Innovative Online School Offers Hope to Struggling Students

Access Possibilities School is a private school that offers primary and secondary academic programs, as well as tutoring, summer school and after school activities to children and families around the world. Offering the standard US curriculum, the school program is highly interactive with virtual classrooms, daily contact between teachers and students, and daily peer-to-peer dialogue.

How it Works

Using an interactive, online educational tool, students who participate in the academic programs meet with their teachers for daily lessons. This tool is also used for student-to-student interaction and group projects.

Classes are set to coincide with traditional school hours wherever possible and students are encouraged to participate in extra-curricular and social activities in their local neighborhood.

Parent supervision is limited to ensuring that students are online and capable of using the technology effectively; they are not required to participate in conducting lessons.

Who It Caters To

Access Possibilities School is open to any student, anywhere in the world, including those students who find it difficult to navigate the demands of conventional schools.

This may include children with ADHD, autism, and bullying and social difficulties but may also include children who have demands on their time from elite sports training, the performing arts or intensive travel.

Access Possibilities School maintains high academic standards with plans for accreditation within two years.

Conceived and created by Gary M. Douglas and Dr. Dain Heer, the school utilizes the latest in online technology and offers unprecedented focus on students’ individual needs, interests and learning styles.

“The concept behind Access Possibilities School is for teachers to encourage kids to learn the way they naturally learn,” remarks Douglas, a globally renowned speaker, author and founder of Access Consciousness™.

Although the current methods for standard education may work for students who can learn in a standard way, conventional systems often miss the mark for students that have been labeled with learning and behavioral disabilities, such as ADHD or autism, as well as for students who are more gifted than traditional learning styles can offer.

Anne Maxwell, Executive Director of Access Possibilities School believes that their unique approach to teaching will enable students to far exceed what they currently achieve in the standard classroom.

“Our focus is on what these children can do, not on what they can’t. Part of making education easy for our students and their families is to ensure that they have an effortless transition into college or, if they choose to leave, into any other school,” Maxwell explains.
